In his painting The Last Supper, Leonardo Da Vinci placed some food items on Jesus’ table.
Although they are supposed to give an idea of what Jesus Christ’s diet was, these representations are not exactly accurate.
Indeed, he painted apples the way apples looked like in the 15th century, and not 2000 years ago.
Actually, at that time, the shape of an apple was closer to the shape of pomegranates than the apples we know nowadays.
This might be the reason why some theories say that the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden wasn’t an apple but a pomegranate.
